Happy end of the fall semester and Happy Holidays! I am excited about the end of the semester and look forward to the spring semester and celebrating the New Year. Thank you to those who attended our Fall Business meeting at ASHA. We were very excited for the opportunity to share all of the things happening at CAPCSD. The Board is in the process of taking a critical look at our initiatives and studying each for its return on mission and investment. We are also prepping for many exciting things to come this spring. Watch for all our happenings via the newsletter, emails, and the website. Please encourage your faculty who have not yet set up their CAPCSD account to do so. They can do this on the CAPCSD website here. The CAPCSD Board of Directors and Committees have been working hard to support, promote, and advance our member programs. We wish you all the best for the new year. In warm regards, Jenny

Your CAPCSD Connection to CAA and CFCC
|
Did you know that CAPCSD has an invited presence at the meetings of the Academic Affairs Board (AAB), Council for Academic Accreditation (CAA), and the Council for Clinical Certification (CFCC)? We serve as non-voting members at the meetings, but as CAPCSD liaisons are extended a welcoming opportunity to listen and contribute to meeting discussions and offer updates on CAPCSD activities and member issues. We invite you to take advantage of our attendance at these meetings to bring input and concerns from your programs to these councils. We will consolidate and anonymize member program issues for our liaison reports at the meetings.
The AAB, CAA, and CFCC will meet again in the new year, and we look forward to receiving your input to take to these meetings.

Applicants and programs benefit from clear communication during the admissions process. Did you know that CSDCAS provides comprehensive resources for facilitating communication with your applicants? Among other features, CSDCAS supports batch e-mails that can be targeted based on applicant status. For example, to your “Verified” applicants, you could send a note indicating receipt of their application along with a timeline for admissions decisions. Applicants with a “Received” status might benefit from a friendly reminder that CSDCAS is still awaiting receipt of their transcripts, and “In Progress” applicants may benefit from a brief note highlighting features of your program and reminding them of your program’s deadline and application requirements. If you find yourself getting a similar question about your program from multiple applicants, then you could even send an e-mail to all your applicants with the answer, thus facilitating more efficient communication during the admissions process. E-mails can also be sent in batch when using searches, lists, and the clipboard. You can even link an e-mail template to a local status and trigger a communication to applicants when you update their local status!
The WebAdMIT help center provides guidance on correspondence with applicants though instructional descriptions and video tutorials. We invite you to share how your program optimizes admissions communications and/or learn from and network with others in the admissions space on the CAPCSD Conversations discussion board in the CAPCSD member Information .

As always, please feel free to reach out with feedback on how CAPCSD can help facilitate your admissions process.
