IPE/IPP Information Exchange Session 2

 

IPE Curriculum in Action:
Interprofessional Collaboration and Team Skills
(iCATS)

The IPE/IPP Information Exchange is a yearlong online learning event aimed at supporting faculty and programs interested in expanding IPE/IPP experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. Registration is free.

This is the second session of four (4), where participants will join content experts discussing issues related to IPE/IPP using an informal and interactive conversational format. 

 

This session is suited for institutions looking to learn about curricular development and implementation across two or more universities. Presenters will share the strategies used to ensure successful implementation including initial communication, learning management system training, and post-assessment.

Speakers

Dr. Todd R. Cheever, M.D., serves as the Associate Dean for the U.K. College of Medicine-Bowling Green Campus. His clinical work as a psychiatrist and educational efforts throughout his career have supported IPE.

Dr. Patricia Desrosiers, LCSW, has worked with children and families for over 20 years. She is currently the Department Chair of Social Work at Western Kentucky University. Areas of research interest include leadership, supervision, child welfare, and interprofessional practice. 

Dr. Dana J. Sullivan, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Social Work at Western Kentucky University.  She is a member of the Social Work Education Assessment Project (SWEAP) national team.  She has served as co-principal investigator on numerous federal grants related to the child welfare training and evaluation, agency-university partnerships, and substance abuse. 

Dr. Missy Travelsted, DNP, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Western Kentucky University. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Physical Therapist Assistant. Dr. Travelsted serves as the co-chair of the Interprofessional Education Workgroup for the College of Health and Human Services at WKU.

Dr. Kurt Neelly, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Admissions for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Western Kentucky University.  Dr. Neelly was one of the two founding faculty members for the DPT Program, has worked with the iCATS program since its inception in Bowling Green, and has also been involved with IPE activities with the WKU Speech Language Pathology Program.

Who can join CAPCSD?

Faculty, clinic directors, and staff at CAPCSD member programs are invited to join CAPCSD at no cost!

 

If I do not have a CAPCSD membership, how do I create one?

Go to the CAPCSD membership webpage by clicking here. Scroll down the page to "Individual Membership" and click on "Join Here".  Follow the prompts to create your membership using your university email address. You must use your university email.
