Mentoring Students on their Journey to Earning a Ph.D. (9008)
Thursday, April 2, 2020 (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (EDT)
Serving as an excellent mentor to Ph.D. students is crucial for the future of our discipline. Many of us can think of examples of both "good" and "bad" mentoring from our own graduate education experiences. However, there are strategies for mentorship that should be considered regardless of our past. This webinar addresses questions such as: How does good mentorship work? How do I promote good mentorship? And, what are some examples of good mentorship for Ph.D. students? Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share strategies for success in this 60-minute session.
- List three examples of good mentorship in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- List four ways to promote good mentorship within their own work.
- Discuss intergenerational influences on mentorship.
