SUMMARY:FREE WEBINAR: CAA and CFCC Update | Thursday\, October 1\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:The CAA serves as the accreditation body for academic programs\, while the CFCC oversees the certification of individual practitioners. Both are key to ensuring integrity and trust in clinical practice and in graduate education in audiology and speech-language pathology. As both councils make strategic changes\, a seamless shift from conceptual excellence to regulatory compliance is essential. This joint session will review critical updates to certification maintenance and accreditation standards\, which will take effect on August 1\, 2027. The session will provide a clear roadmap for practitioners\, academic and clinical educators\, and program administrators. Certification Updates The CFCC sets and monitors standards for individual certification to protect the public. Updates to Certification Standards now fundamentally change how knowledge and skills are validated. This session will cover updates to the standards that impact certification maintenance and continuing education practices for audiologists/speech-language pathologists. Accreditation Updates The CAA ensures integrity in graduate education programs that train entry-level professionals. This session will cover federal and state regulations affecting CAA policies and procedures. It will include federal policy updates governing accreditation recognition through the U.S. Department of Education\, and changes to standards from the CAA's comprehensive review. The newest accreditation standards will be announced on August 1\, 2026\, and take effect on August 1\, 2027. Audiology/Speech-language pathology programs and practitioners will learn about these standards and ways to update their practices. REGISTRATION LINK
