Required Degree:
- Ph.D. in speech-language pathology or related field
- CCC-SLP is preferred
Experience:
- Strong research experience or demonstrated research potential required
- Specialization in voice, swallowing, fluency, neurogenic speech disorders, or augmentative and alternative communication. We may consider other areas of expertise depending on the qualifications of the candidate.
- Teaching experience required, preferably at both undergraduate and graduate levels
- Experience in mentoring students
Duties/Expectations:
- Teaching – typically four classes a year, with a course reduction in year one

- University service
- Mentoring graduate student theses
The Communication Disorders Department at BYU has 13 full-time faculty and 5 part-time clinical educators. We offer a BS degree in communication disorders and an MS degree in speech-language pathology. All graduate students complete a thesis. The graduate program was recently re-accredited for the next eight years (2023-2031) by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Information about the position:
Candidates should have a strong research orientation, the ability to mentor master’s theses, and effective teaching abilities. Duties include teaching (typically four classes a year, with a course reduction in year one), research, and university service. Start-up funding, instrumentation, and lab space are available. The CCC is preferred. Salary and rank are negotiable, depending on qualifications. An earned Ph.D. in speech language pathology or related area is required.
