Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders seeks an individual with an earned research doctoral degree in Audiology (or related field) for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of ASHA. Expertise in auditory brainstem testing, hearing science, psychoacoustics, implantable devices, hearing conservation, and vestibular testing is highly desirable; CCC-A and eligibility for N.J. State Licensure are preferred. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and mentoring student research. Candidates should have a documented record of scholarship and excellence in teaching. Grant seeking and service to the department, university, and larger professional community are expected.

The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders is housed approximately two miles from campus in Bloomfield, NJ. Classrooms (6), research laboratories (6), teaching laboratories (2), a computer laboratory, student lounge, study areas, faculty and staff offices, and the Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology are located in a 40,000 square foot, accessible space with ample parking. The Communication Sciences & Disorders Department boasts a thriving research and clinical community of faculty and professional staff engaged in private and government-funded research, including Montclair State University’s first government-registered clinical trial research study. The department offers a Doctor of Audiology, AuD, and a Master of Arts, M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology, designed to prepare students for careers as clinical audiologists and speech-language pathologists. The program's excellence is achieved by accepting outstanding applicants mentored through their programs of study by highly skilled, experienced academic and clinical faculty. Graduates of the program are in high demand and enjoy satisfying careers in health care, academics, research and development, private practice, and corporate settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Earned research doctoral degree in audiology or hearing science.
Demonstrated commitment to social, economic, environmental, and racial justice.
Ability to mentor students in applied clinical research projects.
PREFERRED:
CCC-A and eligibility for N.J. State Licensure.
Understanding of Audiology Accreditation and Certification Standards.
