Hofstra University’s Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences seeks to fill an opening for a full-time, tenure track, faculty position in Audiology. This is a nine-month tenure track position beginning in the Fall of 2024. Hofstra University, in cooperation with Adelphi and St. John's Universities, offers a professional doctorate in audiology (AuD) through the Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium program. The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at Hofstra University is housed within the School of Health Professions and Human Services, which includes the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, located in the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center. The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic offers diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for a variety of communication disorders, including audiological evaluations and screenings, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fitting and dispensing, central auditory processing evaluations, and aural rehabilitation services.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. The course load consists of nine semester hours (3 courses) of teaching per semester.
  • Research in candidate’s area of interest.
  • Student Advisement.
  • Involvement in Department, School, and University committees.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Earned research doctorate (PhD preferred) in audiology, hearing science, or related discipline.
  • AuD with extensive research background.
  • ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • ASHA certification.
