Assistant/Associate Professor of Audiology

Tenure Track Faculty Position

The DEPARTMENT OF SPEECH PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY in the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a full-time (12 month), tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants with expertise in any area of Audiology and/or Hearing Science are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the position include teaching in the Doctor of Audiology degree program and in the Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences degree program, as well as opportunities for mentorship of students in the Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Sciences and Disorders degree program. Responsibilities also include the development and/or maintenance of significant lines of scholarly research, including conducting, publishing, and presenting peer-reviewed, data-driven research at national and international levels, and submission of competitive extramural funding applications. Further, the faculty member appointed to this position will provide service to the Department, College, and University, and will contribute positively to the overall mission and atmosphere of the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS include an earned research doctorate (PhD) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from an accredited university, ABD considered.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS include eligibility for or current state licensure from the Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) in Audiology, and eligibility for or current certificate of clinical competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

The DEPARTMENT OF SPEECH PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY at the University of South Alabama boasts 17 diverse, internationally recognized academic faculty and clinical faculty members serving students through didactic teaching, clinical practicum, and ongoing research.
