Position Description

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, within the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences at Baylor University, invites applications and nominations for a full-time Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in Speech-Language Pathology to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The position will include teaching and research responsibilities. The academic rank for this position will be at Assistant Professor level, salary is commensurate with experience and credentials. About the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers residential bachelor’s, residential and online master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology; the program is CAA certified. Currently, the program is comprised of more than 300 undergraduate students, 100 residential graduate students, nearly 400 online graduate students, and five Ph.D. students.

Qualifications

A Doctorate (PhD/Ed.D.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders and /or Speech and Hearing Sciences is required. Qualified candidates should have academic credentials commensurate with an appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will be expected to continue building upon a strong track record of interdisciplinary and collaborative research, scholarly productivity, and a demonstrated ability to secure extramural funding. In accordance with the university’s faith mission, to be considered, applicants must be practicing Christians or practicing Jews.

Preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in autism or dysphagia, and/or motor speech. Experience in teaching and/or research is preferred. Certification by ASHA (CCC-SLP) and eligibility for Texas State licensure is preferred. Special consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong foundation in research, publishing, and teaching excellence in communication sciences and disorders.

Salary and Review Date
