
Associate/Full Professor Tenure Track
The Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites associate/full professor, mid-career tenure track position to begin August 1, 2024. Applicants should have strong teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level. Priority is given to individuals with the ability to mentor PhD students and teach in the doctoral program in Applied Language and Speech Sciences. Duties include establishing and maintaining a visionary, collaborative research agenda worthy of national recognition and capable of extramural funding. Priority given to candidates with scholarship, discovery, and clinical-project development in the areas of acquired neurogenic communication disorders, community partnerships and social inclusion, dysphagia, research methods.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in the communicative disorders or related field. The position requires an academic record worthy of tenure with experience recruiting and mentoring graduate students, developing and implementing clinical research projects, a record of innovative teaching within the field, and history of providing positive leadership within the department/college/university through mentoring and other interactions. Must possess capacity to develop professional relationships external to the department and/or college. Successful applicant must be nationally recognized with an emerging, distinguished record of research accomplishments in communicative disorders. Eligibility for State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology is required.
Record of excellence in teaching and active engagement and service within the department, college, university, and professional levels is expected.
