Clinical Assistant Professor Position
Position Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University is seeking applicants for two (2) full-time Clinical Assistant Professor positions beginning August 2024. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include supervising graduate and undergraduate student clinic practicums at the OSU Speech-Language-Hearing clinic. The faculty member will be expected to participate in regular program, departmental, and university activities. Other duties will be assigned as required.
Minimum Job Requirements
The candidate should present: 1) CCC-SLP; 2) Earned doctorate, ABD, or Master’s degree; 3) at least two years of CDIS practice experience; and 3) eligibility for Oklahoma licensure as SLP. The successful candidate will be required to complete a minimum of 2 hours of professional development in the area of supervision/clinical instruction prior to the start of the position as per the ASHA requirements
Preferred qualifications:
Candidates with expertise in all areas of speech-language pathology are welcome to apply. Prior experience in supervising students’ clinical practicum at an SLP academic program is preferable but not required.
About the department:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has seven full-time tenure-track faculty, six full-time clinical faculty, and a clinic manager. The department’s clinic operates year-round and serves over 300 clients for speech and language disorders who come from Stillwater and the surrounding area. Academic programs comprise an undergraduate B.S., a postbaccalaureate certificate, a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and a graduate M.S. The department has a diverse student body that includes about 250 undergraduate students and 76 graduate students.
OSU-Stillwater is the flagship campus of the OSU system. Stillwater is a pleasant city with a population close to 50,000. It is located in the north-central part of Oklahoma, approximately 70 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Stillwater public schools are rated among the best in Oklahoma and the city offers an affordable housing market.
