The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Faculty with expertise in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply: pediatric speech-language disorders, developmental apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorders, aural habilitation, augmentative and alternative communication, pediatric dysphagia.  Individuals with prior clinical education experience and experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting are preferred. The graduate program offers the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree.

A clinical faculty member in the Speech-Language Pathology Program has responsibilities in clinical teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities include engaging in clinical education at the Midwestern University Speech-Language Institute and off site placements, with possible directorship of academic courses.  Scholarship requirements include development of a productive line of scholarship that results in dissemination. Service responsibilities include membership on Program, College, and University committees, assisting with the student recruitment and admissions process, contributing to the preparation of program self-study and accreditation documents, professional role-modeling, and participating actively in the professional activities of state and national organizations.

Applicants must hold a Master’s or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology and evidence potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates must hold certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP), and must hold or be eligible for state licensure in Arizona. Prior teaching experience, scholarly productivity, and professional service will enhance the candidate’s application. Rank is open and dependent upon experience. Salary and benefits are competitive.
