Summary: Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently accepting applications for a full-time twelve-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders to support graduate and undergraduate SLP programs. Our programs give emphasis to interprofessional education, diversity/equity/inclusion/justice, and student-centered learning. Required Qualifications and Education:
Doctoral degree in speech-language pathology or related discipline (Ph.D.; ABD considered with degree completion prior to start date)
Area of expertise that complements current faculty
Evidence of effective teaching and willingness to integrate academics with clinical education
ASHA certification with experience in direct clinical practice
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Preference for applicants with expertise in adult neurogenic communication disorders, aphasia, clinical education for the adult population
Preference for applicants with demonstrated record and/or potential for active scholarship
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
- Teaching in the speech-language pathology graduate and undergraduate academic programs
- Tenure-track faculty members participate in scholarly activity, advise/mentor students, and provide service to the university, community, and the profession.
