Posting Summary:
The Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City (CSD at Teachers College) is seeking a full-time faculty member to conduct a focused program of research, teach graduate courses, and participate in service. This is an academic (9-month) faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates whose research areas complement or build upon those of our current faculty. Priority areas of expertise include adult language disorders as well as medical speech-language pathology, TBI and dementia, augmentative and alternative communication, and literacy.

As our CSD program is committed to advancing the field at all levels with respect to issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion, past experiences, current activities and/or future goals related to these issues will be considered a plus, including facility in working with diverse/historically marginalized populations. These values are clear through the work of our program faculty, who are leaders in clinical-translational research, with immediate clinical relevance to the multilingual, multicultural populations we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Teach graduate courses in communication sciences and disorders, conduct and supervise research in areas of interest and expertise, and provide service to the Program, Department, and College.
• The candidate will be expected to demonstrate experience with external funding processes and have a plan or track record in applying for external funding.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field with teaching experience and evidence of an emerging or developed line of research.
• Experience sufficient to support teaching graduate courses in speech and language pathology.
• Demonstrated experience with external funding processes and have a plan or track record in applying for external funding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) licensure from ASHA
• Candidates whose research areas complement or build upon those of our current faculty.
• Priority areas of expertise include adult language disorders and related fields.
