The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Delaware invites applications for a temporary assistant professor of instruction, to support the department's teaching and advising needs. The appointment is expected to begin on January 16, 2024, and will run until August 31, 2025, with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of three years.  The primary responsibility of this position is to support the department’s undergraduate programs in Cognitive Science, Speech-Language Pathology, and/or Linguistics.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach a subset of the following courses: Introduction to Cognitive Science; Topics in Cognitive Science; Introduction to Speech and Hearing Science; First Language Development; Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism; Sociolinguistics; Psycholinguistics; Philosophy of Language; Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing (CCC-SLP preferred); Introduction to Communication Disorders in Childhood (CCC-SLP required); Introduction to Communication Disorders in Adulthood (CCC-SLP required).  The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and is also expected to contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the department and the university.
