The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applicants for a Full-Time, Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders position. The position begins in August 2024.

The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses that may be offered in-person, online, hybrid, or hyflex in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills and demonstrate attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department’s students. The faculty member will collaborate with other departmental faculty and staff to ensure student success.   

This is a full-time 9-month appointment. There is potential for summer session instructional opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Teach undergraduate, pre-graduate, and/or graduate level courses.
• Engage in scholarly activities such as research, presentations, publications, and grants. The University promotes the Teacher-Scholar Model for professional accomplishment and values faculty contributions in diverse forms.
• Serve the University and the community through participation in various committees.
• Advise students and supervise student clinicians.
• Incorporate technology into the classroom and the clinic.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or other related discipline. ABD may be considered - must be completed no later than December 31, 2024.
• Experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Fluency Disorders, Speech Science, Hearing Science, Cognitive Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Neurology, Phonetics, Aural Rehabilitation, Medical or School-based Clinical Service Delivery, and/or Linguistics/Phonetics.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology and/or Audiology from ASHA and PA license eligibility.
