DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology TYPE Post-Doctoral

Mercy College (Dobbs Ferry, NY) seeks qualified candidates to fill the full time faculty position in the Communication Disorders program. This is a 12-month faculty position at the Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor rank commensurate with experience in the Communication Disorders Program in the School of Health and Natural Sciences. This is an opportunity to join a group of engaged faculty in an established undergraduate and graduate Communication Disorders program.

 Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The anticipated start date for this position is September 1, 2021.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in medical speech-language pathology who have clinical experience with adults (e.g., aphasia, motor speech and cognitive communication disorders, and dysphagia). Candidates interested in teaching courses associated with acquired neurogenic disorders, swallowing, and anatomy/neuroanatomy for speech-language pathologists are preferred. Other areas of expertise will be considered (speech sound disorders, fluency).Teaching may include graduate and undergraduate courses, clinical supervision, and clinical seminar classes. Candidates of all rank engage in service. Tenure-track candidates are expected to maintain a program of research, advise graduate students, and engage in research mentoring. There are growing opportunities for interprofessional collaboration with other School of Health and Natural Sciences faculty, including PT, OT, OTA, Nursing, and Physician Assistant.

Salary and rank are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related area (Ph.D./Ed.D). Strong ABD candidates will be considered. Applicants with a terminal degree by the appointment date are preferred.Applicants should have the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensure or license eligibility to practice speech-language pathology in the state of New York.
