DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology

Concordia University Wisconsin invites applications for a full-time Speech-Language Pathology faculty position in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) beginning summer 2020. The Department, which admitted its first cohort of graduate students in summer 2019, is currently comprised of eight faculty members. The Department is located in the School of Health Professions, which also houses graduate programs in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Social Work; and undergraduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Social Work, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Rehabilitation Science, and Radiologic Technology. The University is located on a beautiful campus in Mequon, WI overlooking Lake Michigan. Concordia University Wisconsin recently completed the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center, which houses the new, state of the art, CUW Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic.


Responsibilities

  • Involvement in teaching, evaluating, advising, and mentoring of speech-language pathology students in classroom, clinic, and other settings within their area of expertise
  • Participate in the graduate student admission process
  • Contribute to program development, organization, and assessment
  • Opportunity to link clinical practice/teaching to research and scholarship within their area(s) of expertise and the School of Health Professions advocates and provides opportunities for faculty and students to participate in Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPE)


Education and Experience

The preferred candidate will have a terminal degree in speech/language pathology (or closely related area), CCC-SLP certification, Wisconsin state license (or eligible), will have academic and clinical teaching experience, and a record of scholarship. The applicant should also have excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and computer skills. Applicants with expertise in Augmented and Alternative Communication (AAC) will be given special consideration.


Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time (12-month), faculty, exempt position. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until successful candidate(s) are identified. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
