Our Lady of the Lake University is a nationally ranked private, non-profit, small, Catholic university with a deep connection to the history and community of San Antonio, Texas. The Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorders is housed within the College of Professional Studies and includes the Harry Jersig Speech-Language-Hearing Center. The Center offers diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for a variety of communication and swallowing disorders, and includes labs in child language, multicultural diversity, and voice & swallowing. The Woolfolk school programs include a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders Program, a Communication Sciences and Disorders Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders Program. The inaugural Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology Doctorate (SLPD) program will begin in Fall 2022.
The Woolfolk School was founded in the late 1950’s and is proud of its long history of providing the highest quality training of speech-language pathologists throughout San Antonio, Texas and the United States. Our Lady of the Lake University is seeking a full-time, 9-month tenure-track assistant or associate professor in speech-language pathology, beginning in August 2022. OLLU is a leader in training bilingual speech-language pathologists and our curriculum pays special attention to cultural competence and humility. Responsibilities include primarily teaching in our newly approved Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology program, as well as providing clinical supervision of master’s level students. Research endeavors include conducting research in the applicant’s area of interest and mentoring capstone projects in our clinical doctorate program. Additional responsibilities include advising students and being involved in school, college, and university committees.
Qualified candidates will have obtained a Ph.D./Ed.D. degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related area. The selected candidate must be able to obtain Texas licensure for speech-language pathology and hold ASHA certification in speech-language pathology before beginning the position in August 2022.
