Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Health and Human Sciences invites applications for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Communication Sciences & Disorders Program.  The position will commence in Fall 2022.


Southeastern Louisiana University is a teaching-intensive institution but applicants at the Assistant Professor level should show strong potential to be successful in research and publication in one or more areas of CSD.  Applicants at the Associate level must provide evidence of a well-established research program and a history of publication.


Duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level, participation in other program activities that include advising students, recruitment events, and participating in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.  There is an expectation of reasonable presence on campus.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have a Ph.D. conferred by the date of appointment (August 2022) in Communication Sciences & Disorders.

Candidates should be eligible for licensure in Louisiana and hold their CCC-SLP certification.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates who have a Ph.D. focused on the areas of adult neurological conditions in particular Aphasia, Motor Speech, and/or Dysphagia OR Professional working or teaching experience in these areas.  

Preference at the Associate level will be given to candidates who have experience in curriculum development, participation in the CAA accreditation process, and a willingness to help mentor junior faculty.


DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Familiarity with the use of online learning delivery systems such as Moodle, Blackboard, Google classroom, etc., recognized training in distance learning modalities such as Quality Matters.

Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
