The Department of Human Performance, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders at West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time, tenure track or nontenure track (12-month) Assistant or Associate Professor of Audiology. The successful candidate will contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of WVU and the program in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.  

The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching. The tenure-track candidate will establish and/or maintain a research program in their area(s) of expertise leading to dissemination of research findings in various formats including regional, national, and international conference podiums and posters, peer-reviewed publications, obtain external research funding, and direct student research. The non-tenure track candidate will conduct and disseminate clinical research related to area of clinical expertise in various formats including regional, national, and international conferences. Individuals with expertise in cochlear implants, pediatric habilitation, adult audiologic (re)habilitation, and vestibular assessment and intervention are preferred, but expertise in all aspects of the field of Audiology will be considered. The successful candidate will contribute to a department culture of collegiality, collaboration, and trust; will promote and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness, and will seek to promote partnerships within the department, community, and other related programs.  Active engagement in departmental, university, and professional service activities is also expected.  


Qualifications:

 

Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:
 • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology or eligible for CCC-A;
 • West Virginia Audiology license or eligible for a West Virginia Audiology license;
 •    PhD/EdD required or completion by August 1, 2022 to be eligible for the tenure track position.

Preferred qualifications are:
 • Prior university instruction or clinical supervision;
 •    Record of publications commiserate with experience.

All required qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

First consideration will be given to applications received by April 25, 2022

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.  The appointment date is negotiable but would begin on or around July 1, 2022. Salary, rank and track will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
