Assistant/Associate Professor, Speech-Language Pathology - 2 positions
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for two full-time faculty positions in our newly developing Speech-Language Pathology Program. The program will offer the degree of Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and the curriculum will incorporate the academic, clinical and research experiences necessary to prepare students for entry level practice as speech-language pathologists with an emphasis on medical speech-language pathology. The inaugural class will begin in the fall of 2021 on the Center City, Philadelphia campus.
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology will be an integral part of the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences (JCRS) which also includes the departments of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training. The programs within JCRS reflect the University’s commitment to educate future healthcare professionals of the highest quality and ethical standards for contemporary practice in the global community. The College is committed to a culture of clinical excellence through interprofessional education and practice, innovative teaching, integrated experiential learning and evidence-base practice.
PhD or EdD in Speech-Language Pathology or related field is required. Candidates who are ABD may also apply. Current ASHA Certification and eligibility for licensure as a speech-language pathologist in Pennsylvania are desirable.
Area of expertise is open. Candidates with expertise in the areas of speech, language, voice or dysphagia in children or adults are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will possess a documented record of scholarship and excellence in teaching.
These positions are 12- month, full-time, non-tenure track appointments. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.
