Assistant/Associate Professor, Speech-Language Pathology
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for a second full-time faculty position in our newly developing Speech-Language Pathology Program with a start date of Fall 2021. The program will offer the degree of Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and the curriculum will incorporate the academic, clinical and research experiences necessary to prepare students for entry level practice as speech-language pathologists with an emphasis on medical speech-language pathology. The inaugural class will begin in the fall of 2021 on the Center City, Philadelphia campus.
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology will be an integral part of the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences (JCRS) which also includes the departments of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training. The programs within JCRS reflect the University’s commitment to educate future healthcare professionals of the highest quality and ethical standards for contemporary practice in the global community. A doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field is required. Current ASHA Certification and eligibility for licensure as a speech-language pathologist in Pennsylvania are desirable.
Area of expertise is open. A medical speech-language pathology background is preferred. The successful candidate will possess a documented record of scholarship and excellence in teaching.
This position is a 12- month, full-time, non-tenure track appointment. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.
