The Department of Communicative Disorders at Jackson State University invites applications for 2 Assistant/Associate Professor positions, starting Fall 2021.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Communication Disorders or a closely related area.

Demonstrated expertise in one or more area of specialization in speech-language pathology.

The position involves clinical supervision and mentoring so clinical certification in speech-language pathology is required.

Job Requirements:

  • Conduct research in the area of expertise.
  • Seek external grant funding for research activities.
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
  • Clinical supervision and academic mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students in research.
  • Participate in scholarly and service activities.

Jackson State University is an urban, public research-intensive, Historically Black University in Jackson, the capital city of Mississippi. The Department of Communicative Disorders, housed in the School of Public Health within the College of Health Sciences, offers a B.S. degree program in Communicative Disorders and a M.S. degree program in speech-language pathology. The department has a strong reputation for excellent teaching, outstanding clinical training, scholarly productivity, and service to the community.
