The LIU / Post Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is part of the School for Health Professions and Nursing (SHPN). The CSD department is listed among the top 100 programs in the United States that trains candidates at the master’s level to become speech-language pathologists upon graduation. Ours is a 58-credit academic and clinical program with a four course clinical sequence that provides 400+ hours of training to qualified graduate students. We also provide coursework that prepares bachelor’s candidates for candidacy to a master’s program in our pre-professional program. The CSD department is approved by the New York State Education Department and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). 

 There is one tenure-track position open at the present time for Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Applicant should have an earned doctorate in SLP with CCC-SLP and SLP Licensure.

Preference will be given to the candidate with pre-existing college-level teaching ability and clinical experience. Preferred areas of clinical expertise and teaching experience include but are not limited to: AAC, stuttering, and multiculturalism. Overall departmental responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching (nine credits each Fall and Spring semester), academic advisement, engagement in department activities and events, committee work, research and scholarly activities.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
