POSITION:

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders seeks up to two tenure track faculty members at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning January or August 2020. Summer employment is possible.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field is required. ABD considered but completion of the doctorate will be required by June 1, 2021. CCC-SLP/CCC-A is preferred.  Prior university teaching and online teaching experience will be considered assets. Area of expertise is open to address current and anticipated needs within this dynamic department. RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking individuals with a strong interest in the academic and clinical instruction of undergraduate and master’s students in our CAA accredited program in speech-language pathology.  Other responsibilities include active participation in scholarly activity, student research, professional mentoring, and engagement in service to the department, college, university, and community.


DEPARTMENT:

The department has seven faculty, four clinical instructional faculty, seven adjunct clinical instructors, approximately 260 undergraduate majors, and approximately 100 master’s students in residential and online programs. The department also has an active speech, language, and hearing clinic with 16 treatment rooms, observation areas, an AAC lab, a well-equipped voice/speech science lab, an audiology lab, and a distance learning classroom. The department has a robust scholarship of teaching and learning culture and is the 2019 UW System Board of Regents Teaching Excellence Award recipient.
