DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology

The Department of Communication Disorders at Brigham Young University invites applications for a 10-month faculty position, starting Sept 1, 2021. 

A specialization in one or more of the following areas is preferred: augmentative and alternative communication, autism and/or severe disabilities, cognitive communication disorders, or aural rehabilitation. We may consider other areas of expertise depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Candidates should have a strong research orientation, the ability to mentor master’s theses, and effective teaching abilities. Duties include teaching (typically four classes a year, with a course reduction in year one), research, and university service. Start-up funding, instrumentation, and lab space are available. The CCC is preferred. Salary and rank are negotiable, depending on qualifications. An earned Ph.D. in speech language pathology or related area is required.

The Communication Disorders Department at BYU has 11 full-time faculty and 5 part-time clinical educators. We offer a BS degree in communication disorders and an MS degree in speech-language pathology. All graduate students complete a thesis. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
