Assistant Professor of Education, General Faculty, in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Department of Human Services; University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development.


The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia seeks an early-career Audiologist who will devote approximately half-time to providing clinical audiology services as Service Lead within the Sheila C. Johnson Center for Clinical Services, and approximately half-time to teaching undergraduate/graduate courses, providing clinical supervision to students in the SLP Master’s program, and mentoring graduate/undergraduate students. This is a 12-month, salaried, non-tenure-eligible position.


Required Qualifications and Experience:

PhD in Audiology or a Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.)

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)

Current Virginia audiology and hearing-aid dispensing license

Clinical experience with audiological evaluation and treatment, including patient/family counseling and hearing-aid fitting

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Experience instructing and supervising graduate clinicians for the purpose of fostering independent clinical decisions grounded in best-practices

Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in audiology

Experience building or sustaining a clinical caseload
