DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology TYPE Faculty

The University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. The successful applicant will teach graduate and undergraduate courses and supervise clinical practicum in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. 



The faculty member duties will include the following:

  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the SLP Program that may include hybrid and online delivery modalities as appropriate. Area of interest is open.
  • Supervise SLP undergraduate and graduate students in clinical practicum as needed
  • Typical teaching/supervision load is 12 FTE per semester
  • Optional summer term teaching and/or supervision may be available 
  • Mentor and advise students
  • Demonstrate scholarly activities including independent research
  • Participate in service to the Program, Department, College, and University



An earned PhD degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field of communication sciences and disorders. ABD will be considered. If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-instructor. The candidate must be professionally qualified under ASHA with CCC/SLP certification and hold or qualify to hold Oklahoma license in Speech-Language Pathology.


The SLP Program

The SLP Program is housed in the College of Education and Professional Studies. The College is organized in seven departments and has an enrollment of nearly 4800 students. The SLP Program offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology, with approximately 175 undergraduate majors and 48 graduate students. The master’s degree program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
