The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University - Downers Grove Campus, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track academic faculty position in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) graduate program. All qualified applicants will be considered while preference will be given to candidates with teaching and scholarly expertise in the areas of pediatric language disorders. Other areas might include expertise in bilingual pediatric services and/or cultural and linguistic diversity.

Responsibilities for this tenure-track position include teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities include designing/directing up to three graduate courses a year in the SLP program. Opportunities for collaborative teaching and interprofessional education are available. Teaching resources are comprehensive and include purpose-built program specific teaching facilities, access to the latest technology and resources in the classroom, access to anatomy and prosection labs, and a healthcare focused clinical simulation center. This academic position includes protected time for research with manageable expectations for establishing/continuing and maintaining a productive and potentially fundable lines of research leading to dissemination. Research start-up funding is available and faculty research lines may be supported by intramural funding. Service responsibilities include membership on program, college, and university committees, and involvement in professional organizations is desired.

Applicants should hold a doctorate in speech-language pathology, speech-language and hearing sciences, communication sciences and disorders or a related discipline (Ph.D. preferred). Qualified candidates in an “all but dissertation” status are strongly encouraged to apply. Certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP) is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship. Rank is open and dependent upon qualifications. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.
