The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University - Downers Grove Campus, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track academic faculty position in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Program. All qualified applicants will be considered while preference will be given to candidates with scholarly expertise in child language disorders, bilingual pediatric services, cultural and linguistic diversity in speech-language pathology.

Responsibilities for the position include teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities include designing/directing graduate courses in the SLP program with a reasonable teaching load. Opportunities for collaborative teaching and IPE experiences are available, with access to a healthcare focused clinical simulation center. Scholarship expectations include establishing/continuing and maintaining a productive line of research leading to dissemination. Research start-up funding is available. The SLP program houses several state-of-the-art infrastructures including instrumentation for Electroencephalogram (EEG), motion capture analyses, Videostroboscopy, and acoustic/aerodynamic speech measures. Service responsibilities include membership on program, college, and university committees, and involvement in professional organizations is desired.

Applicants should hold a doctorate in speech-language pathology, speech-language and hearing sciences, communication sciences and disorders or a related discipline (Ph.D. strongly preferred). Candidates in “All but dissertation” status will be considered. Certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP) is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship. Rank is open and dependent upon qualifications. Salary and benefits are competitive.
