The Department of Communication Sciences and Professional Counseling in the College of Education at the University of West Georgia invites dynamic applicants to join our rapidly-growing, ASHA CAA- accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program. The College of Education is a doctoral granting and SACS accredited, preparing graduates for professional careers in three dynamic areas of focus: Teaching, Leadership, and Wellness. Located 45 miles west of Atlanta, the University of West Georgia’s 645-acre campus offers modern, state-of-the-art facilities complemented by beautiful green spaces. Position Description


The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including on-line instruction; (2) supervising students in school, clinical, and research settings; (3) advising students; (4) participating in broad-based university, college, and departmental committee work and professional service; (5) developing/expanding a research agenda in a chosen specialty area while sustaining scholarly productivity.


Preferred Qualifications


Possess a specialization in at least one of the following specialty areas: voice disorders, neurogenic communication disorders, speech science, audiology, and/or stuttering/fluency disorders.


 A doctoral degree is preferred, and ABD will be considered.

 A demonstrated commitment to, and evidence of, a research and publication agenda.

Required Qualifications

An earned graduate degree in Speech-language Pathology, Communication Sciences/Disorders, or a related field (e.g., special education, rehabilitation, public health, educational psychology, etc.) from an accredited institution.


Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)


A minimum of 3 years successful teaching, clinical experience, and/or work in the field of communication                     

sciences and disorders.


Demonstrated understanding of assessment of student learning outcomes.


Commitment to working collaboratively with other faculty and practitioners
