Assistant Professor, Speech-Language Pathology

Twelve-month, full time, tenure-track appointment. Salary is competitive.


The Department of Speech-Language Pathology (www.duq.edu/slp) in the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences at Duquesne University is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member to conduct research and to teach in the areas in voice disorders, speech production, and/or speech science.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct programmatic research in area(s) of interest

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of expertise

• Advise and mentor students

• Mentor high quality student research

• Contribute through university, school, departmental, and professional service activities


Additionally, this position offers a unique opportunity to serve in a consultant role as a member of the clinical team in the Duquesne University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. The specific emphasis of this faculty member’s role in supporting student clinical education will be dependent upon the expertise of the individual.


Required Attributes:

• Earned doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field. ABD will be considered for outstanding candidates.

• Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in scholarship and teaching

• Clinical Certification from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association

• Eligibility for Pennsylvania state license
