Lewis University is seeking a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology.   Area of emphasis:  Child Language Disorders


The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology include:

- Developing and teaching didactic academic courses in the SLP curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses

- Developing and executing a line of scholarly research that results in dissemination of knowledge

- Developing and managing off-site clinical practica in the community for clinical education of SLP students, scholarly projects and community outreach

- Completing service to the program, college, university and our profession

- Recording assessment data regarding student achievement at midterm and end of each semester

- Participation in departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other meetings or events, as required

- Performing other duties as assigned by the Program Director of the SLP program

- Modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, and respectful collaboration

- Fostering an education environment supportive of the Lasallian Mission


The successful candidate will hold an earned doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and demonstrate a significant record of university teaching, clinical experience, and scholarship. In addition, he/she/they must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and must hold or be eligible for the Illinois state speech-language pathology license.
