Assistant Professor - Speech Language Pathology Program
The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track academic faculty position in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Qualified applicants with expertise in dysphagia, motor speech disorders, and/or voice and resonance disorders will be considered. Speech-Language Pathology faculty have responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities include designing and directing academic courses and engaging in clinical education at the Midwestern University Speech-Language Institute. Scholarship requirements include development of a productive line of scholarship that results in dissemination. Electroencephalogram (EEG) lab facilities are available to support faculty research lines at the Speech-Language Institute. Service responsibilities include membership on program, college, and university committees, assisting with the student recruitment and admissions process, contributing to the preparation of program self-study and accreditation documents, professional role-modeling, and participating actively in the professional activities of state and national organizations. Applicants must hold an advanced degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related area (Ph.D. strongly preferred) and evidence potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates must hold certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP), and must hold or be eligible for state licensure in Illinois. Prior teaching experience, scholarly productivity, and professional service will enhance the candidate’s application. Rank is open and dependent upon experience. Salary and benefits are competitive.
