The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Program at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time (10 month), tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Preferred date: 12/11/2020 QUALIFICATIONS: •Applicants for the position must have earned a doctorate in speech-language pathology/communication sciences and disorders from an accredited institution. 1.ABDs will be considered but must have doctorate completed before the appointment date. 2.Clinical Doctorates may be considered. •Hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). •Hold or be eligible for Oklahoma State Licensure in speech-language pathology. •Experience and commitment to teaching a diverse student population, including first-generation college students. •Evidence of strong potential for effectiveness in teaching and scholarly activity •Evidence of strong collaborative and collegial interactions with students, peers, and the community. Duties: Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in scholarly activity, advising students, supervising clinical services, and participating in service to the Program, Department, College, and University. Discipline specific instruction in courses and clinical supervision in a variety of formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online, telepractice) requires that the individual provide a quality learning experience for students, teach, advise, and mentor students; evaluate student performance,; and maintain department and student records in accordance with university, program, professional, and accreditation requirements. Location: The SLP Program is housed in the Donna Nigh Department of Advanced and Professional Studies in the Collee of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS). CEPS has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 23 graduate majors. The M.S. Speech-Language Pathology program is CAA accredited and typically matriculates 22-27 graduate students each year. The B.S. in Speech-Language pathology program includes 100-125 students each year. UCO is AA/EOE. UCO strongly promotes diversity. The University of Central Oklahoma is located in Edmond, OK. The community is considered part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and UCO is the metropolitan university. Edmond is a thriving community of over 94,000 and is supported by 20 city parks, award winning public schools, a vibrant public art effort and offers diverse and plentiful social and religious opportunities. Outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, boating, and fishing are available at Arcadia Lake and nearby Lake Hefner and Lake Thunderbird. Edmond is only minutes from Oklahoma City, which offers major league sports and national and international arts and entertainment.
