The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking to fill a full-time, non-tenure track Researcher appointment to serve as the Research and Outreach Coordinator for the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) program.

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Contribute actively to research in AAC (conceptualize, implement, analyze, and disseminate research)

  • Support outreach activities to enhance the translation of research to evidence-based practice to improve outcomes for individuals who use AAC and their families

  • Contribute to preservice training and in-service education in AAC

Relevant experience in AAC research, preservice or in-service education, and outreach is required. A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in communication sciences and disorders or a related area is required; ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is preferred but not required. The successful candidate must be able to meet and comply with all applicable health and safety requirements in all research and other work settings. The ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff is essential.

Both remote and on-site work options are available.

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
