Summary of Job Duties: 

This 12-month, full-time Clinical Instructor serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas. The responsibilities for this position include coordination of the clinical education curriculum; management of the Speech and Hearing Clinic and graduate off-campus clinical placements; teaching clinical skills via a patient caseload in the Speech and Hearing Clinic, and teaching academic courses. The Clinical Education Coordinator will provide weekly group meetings to students enrolled in off-campus clinical education courses, maintain regular contact with off-campus supervisors, and additional follow-up for students as needed to meet clinical education needs. 

The Clinical Education Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing clinic operations including ensuring established policies and procedures are adhered to by students, faculty, and staff and managing budgets related to clinical education. 


Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by      the start of employment 

2. Certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) 

3. Eligibility for AR licensure 

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Additional certification areas or specialty recognition 

2. At least five years of clinical experience 

3. Experience with clinical education in a university or private clinic 

4. Experience providing or coordinating undergraduate observation hours 

5. Experience supervising graduate student clinicians 

6. Experience teaching at a higher education institution 

Salary: Commensurate with education and/or experience
