Position Description


The University of South Florida (USF) Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking a 12-month Clinical Instructor of Speech-Language Pathology. The person in this position will provide clinical instruction and supervision to MS-SLP students in clinical practice in a university-based, billing clinic. The position will focus primarily on training students to work primarily with pediatric populations (including but not limited to pediatric language or phonological disorders). Clinical faculty regularly partner with academic faculty in the delivery of graduate coursework to showcase the implementation of evidence-based practices in clinical care. The candidate will also provide service to the university through faculty governance at the department, college, and/or university level and will provide service outside the university to the community and/or profession. The applicant must be licensed to practice in Florida (or have applied for that licensing) before the position start date.


Minimum Qualifications


• Masters in Speech Language Pathology

• Holds or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)

• Minimum of nine months of practice experience post-certification.

• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor I.


Preferred Qualifications


 • Clinical focus in Early Intervention

• Experience supervising graduate students/interns

• Experience presenting at conferences or continuing education events

• At least 5 years’ experience in the field

• Experience working in non-academic, pediatric clinical settings, such as private practice, homehealth care, pediatric hospitals, and/or outpatient facilities

• At least 2 hours of CEU/CPD in clinical instruction and supervision

• Hold active NPI, Medicare, and Medicaid numbers

• Demonstrated knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice and application of the KASA standards
