The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSDI) in the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University (ECU) invites applications for a full time, Research Associate (Clinical Researcher), 12-month speech-language pathologist at the title of Clinical Researcher serving in our undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degree programs in CSDI.



This position would be responsible for developing and sustaining a line of clinical research and serve as a bridge between ECU CSDI clinical activities and established departmental research labs. The position would also be responsible for teaching duties/instructional, and clinical supervision and direct clinical services in the campus clinic.



Duties will also include: Developing and sustaining a line of clinical research and serve as a bridge between ECU CSDI clinical activities and established departmental research labs. Seeking intramural and extramural funding to support research as appropriate. The position would also be responsible for teaching duties/instructional including classroom instruction of courses such as stuttering, research methods, speech science, and similar communication science disorders courses.



Minimum Education/Experience:

Master’s degree in a related field. Applicants should have demonstrated prior experience in clinical research (e.g., publications and/or grants) and teaching at the university level. Applicants should have their CCC-SLP, licensure or licensure eligibility in the state of North Carolina, and have prior experience in clinical services with supervision of graduate students.



Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

- Research experience in developing collaborative research projects

- Three or more years of clinical experience in pediatrics, evidence of research scholarship

- Terminal research degree (Ph.D.)

- Teaching experience in the areas of such as pediatric, speech and language pathology, fluency disorders, and research design.
