TYPE Program Director/Chair

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a Chair position. The Chairperson will provide academic and administrative leadership, manage and secure resources for the Department and the Eckelmann-Taylor Speech and Hearing Clinic, promote innovative teaching and research, and foster an atmosphere that supports our mission.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field, a substantial record of teaching and research, and demonstrate leadership, management, and communication skills. Prior clinical experience would be an asset. The Chair must be a tenured associate or full professor. Applicants also must have demonstrated administrative competencies and interpersonal skills necessary to provide innovative leadership to a productive, well-functioning department. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to shared academic governance and to diversity, broadly defined. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position. This position is security sensitive and subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy. Employment is contingent upon the candidate’s satisfactory clearance of a criminal background investigation.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders: The Department is a vibrant, dynamic, and energetic group of faculty, staff, and students. Salary, Rank and Tenure: Rank is at the Associate Professor or Professor level. This is a twelve-month position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
