Thiel College seeks to fill the tenure-track Director of Clinical Education/Assistant Professor faculty position with an individual committed to developing an outstanding program of excellence in clinical education/research, didactic teaching, and service.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic clinician, educator, mentor, and scholar who is excited to join a dynamic department and work with similarly dedicated academic and clinical educators in a collaborative and inclusive environment. The listed position is a tenure-track twelve-month appointment as Director of Clinical Education/Assistant Professor faculty position.  It is expected that the successful candidate will teach 2-3 course/semester (24 credits over the calendar year).

The Director of Clinical Education of Thiel College’s BS-CSD/MS-SLP program is responsible for leading and maintaining the CSD/SLP program's clinical training model to support the provision of high quality clinical education to undergraduate CSD students and graduate SLP students. The Director of Clinical Education functions in an independent manner with responsibility for making day-to-day administrative decisions and clinical education decisions concerning the Thiel Center for Speech-Language Services. Actions affecting intermediate or long-term programmatic functions are to be discussed with and approved by the MS-SLP Program Director before implementation.

The Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders is well-established at Thiel College and offers a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology.  The M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology is currently in candidacy status. The department has state-of-the-art teaching facilities and a new on-campus clinic the Thiel Center for Speech-Language Services. 

Minimum Requirements: Master degree in speech-language pathology required with Doctoral degree in speech-language pathology, or a closely related discipline, preferred.; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP); ability to obtain Pennsylvania professional license; a minimum of five years of clinical experience as a CCC-SLP and record of clinical supervision/mentorship;
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to ensure quality learning experiences for students, and effective collaboration with clinical partners.
