DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology

POSITION DESCRIPTION

DePaul University, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the full-time Director of Clinical Education in the Speech Language Pathology Program.  Reporting to the Program Director, the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) will develop and coordinate clinical experiences for students; direct the Speech Language Pathology Clinic; work with the program director in developing the program; assure accreditation standards related to clinical experiences are met; and teach students. The DCE will cultivate partnerships with speech language pathologists and community-based organizations in the Chicago area and play a role in shaping DePaul’s health science initiatives. This is a 12-month appointment and rank will be determined by experience.


QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required, (Doctorate preferred);
  • ASHA CCC-SLP certification is required;
  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure, in Illinois;
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in the field of speech language pathology;
  • Demonstrated record of teaching, scholarship, and/or service to the profession;
  • College or graduate level teaching experience;
  • Familiarity with CAA accreditation standards (preferred);
  • Experience supervising students in clinical and/or community settings;
  • Knowledge of and connections within the Chicago area (preferred);

While the University maintains our strategic Alliance with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, the successful applicant will help DePaul develop its own presence in health professions education. The College is located on DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus.
