Division Director & Professor
The Division of Communication Disorders is in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Wyoming (UW) invites applications for the position of Assistant Clinical Professor, Speech-Language Pathologist.
Teaching duties include clinical supervision and classroom teaching of clinical topics. Classes may include Clinic Methods, Professional Practice, and/or other classes. Clinical duties include supervising students in the evaluation and treatment of clients across the lifespan with various disorders in the UW Speech & Hearing Clinic and teleclinic. Physical presence in Wyoming is required in order to provide these services. Clinical supervision includes planning, review and clinical supervisor meetings, session observations, guiding and grading student reports and maintaining responsibility for the welfare of clients. Teaching will occur in the Fall and Spring semesters, as well as during Summer intensive clinics (which generally run 3 weeks in June and July). Because of Summer teaching. This position also may provide direct service to clients in order to serve our larger educational and service mission. Teaching represents 87.5% of effort for this position; service to the Division, College, University and professional associations (state or national) associated with the discipline is 7.5 effort%; and professional development in areas of need for the clinic or Division is 5% effort.
Qualifications: In order to be considered, applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, be ASHA-certified (CCC), and be WY licensed or eligible for WY licensure.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supervising graduate students in speech-language pathology, experience teaching or training is desired. Experience with telepractice, early-intervention, swallowing, and/or fluency in American Sign Language is desired. This is a full time, 9-month, at-will faculty position located in Laramie, Wyoming
