DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology
The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is seeking applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology with a child/pediatric focus.
Qualifications include Ph.D. (ABD considered), CCC-SLP or eligibility and willingness to obtain; eligibility for Tennessee state licensure; evidence of research activity and potential; commitment to effective classroom teaching.
Areas of specialties and interests preferred, but not limited to:
(a) child language disorders, (b) language development, (c) early intervention, and/or (d) language and literacy. Other specialties may be considered.
Responsibilities of the positions include instruction, development of an ongoing research program, pursuit of funding opportunities, and service. Additional duties include some clinical supervision and direction of student research. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our collaborative environment supports interprofessional research opportunities with the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine and other units in the Academic Health Sciences Center, other departments within the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences(CCRHS), and several community-based health programs including an ENT practice and interprofessional rural health-care programs. The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is an established program that offers an M.S. degree in speech-language pathology and a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree, as well as two undergraduate minors in Communication Disorders and American Sign Language. The ETSU Health Sciences Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology provides an array of services to the local community, serves as a training site for students, and has research opportunities. The department is situated in the College of Clinical and Rehabilitation Health Sciences which is part of the ETSU Academic Health Sciences Center.
