Founding Director of Clinical Education – Speech-Language Pathology (Tenure-Track Associate Professor or Professor)
The Arizona School of Health Sciences at A.T. Still University is seeking applications for the Founding Director of Clinical Education for the Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Program on the Mesa, Arizona campus. The program is scheduled to submit its application for candidacy to the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) in February 2021. Appointment will be for 12 months with rank and salary commensurate with academic credentials and experience. Position to begin July of 2021.
The Director of Clinical Education provides innovative and responsible leadership for all aspects of clinic operations, education, management and development. The Director should be a clinical leader with expertise and experience in interprofessional practice, research, service, and outreach programs in speech-language pathology or related educational and clinical service professions.
•Evidence of the ability to provide leadership for development or expansion of programs or services.
•Evidence of a commitment to culturally sustaining clinical practices in diverse and inclusive contexts and communities.
•Consideration of the importance of global ethical engagements with potential for integration of international clinical opportunities.
•The ability to serve in collaborative roles in bilingual/multilingual clinical, educational and community environments.
•A broad and deep understanding of multiple clinical service provision models, and of multiple clinical education models, within the context of current and emerging national educational, healthcare, and related issues and policies.
•Expertise in current program accreditation (e.g., CAA) and practitioner credentialing (e.g., ASHA-CCC-SLP and state licensure/credentialing) standards and trends.
•The ability to seek funding of multiple types and to work effectively with donors, development professionals, and pre-award and post- award grants management professionals.
•Work with faculty, staff, and community partners to develop and execute shared long- range goals and plans for substantial expansion of clinical opportunities and partnerships.
•Cooperate with team members to implement and maintain high-quality interprofessional clinical practice programs serving diverse audiences.
•Administer and manage all fiscal, clinical, data recording, and data reporting processes for clients, faculty, staff, and student clinicians.
•Clinical service provision or supervision of student clinicians. Provide clinical education for off-site supervisors. •Engage in institutional or professional service and collaborative leadership. Serve on departmental, college, university, and/or professional committees, and/or represent and further clinical education by engaging in other service or leadership activities.
Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, doctoral degree preferred. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (current and held for at least 5 years). Experience as a clinical service provider (at least 5 years), clinical leadership experience (at least 3 years).
