The Communication Disorders Department at BYU has 11 full-time faculty and 5 part-time clinical educators. We offer a BS degree in communication disorders and an MS degree in speech-language pathology. All graduate students complete a thesis. The graduate program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

A specialization in one or more of the following areas is preferred: speech sound disorders, child language, literacy, complex communication needs, augmentative and alternative communication, or aural rehabilitation. We may consider other areas of expertise depending on the qualifications of the applicant. Candidates should have a strong research orientation, the ability to mentor master’s theses, and effective teaching abilities.
