CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS


The Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University is searching for a clinical faculty member in speech-language pathology. The successful applicant will hold a position of clinical assistant professor and will be responsible for provision of clinical care, supervision of graduate students, and support of research and educational missions of the Department’s Center for Audiology, Speech, Language, and Learning and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.


The Center for Audiology Speech, Language, and Learning is housed in a new, state-of-the art facility on the Northwestern University’s Evanston campus. The Center provides services for approximately 6500 patient visits a year in various areas of clinical practice and has strong partnership with world-renowned research scientists housed within the Northwestern University Communication and Sciences Disorders Department. The multidisciplinary center offers a variety of audiology, speech, language, and learning services for patients of all ages and serves as an exceptional educational setting for graduate students.


Employment term: An 11-month appointment beginning June 1, 2021. The appointment may be renewed on an annual basis.


Qualifications:

1. Earned Master's, SLPD or Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology

2. Eligibility for Illinois SLP licensure

3. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence

4. Substantial experience in preschool and school-age articulation and language disorders


Duties:

• Provide exceptional, evidence-based diagnostic and treatment for clients on a pediatric caseload.

• Develop the clinical skills of graduate students via direct instruction and supervision within a team-based educational model.

• Assist in student advising and other activities related to student development.

• Participate in professional activities and service to the University, community and the profession.


Salary: Commensurate with experience.
