Manager of Externships and Supervision for Clinical MA and SLPD Programs

Under the direction of the Executive Director of the School of Communication Disorders and Deafness, the Manager of Externships and Supervision for Clinical MA and SLPD Programs (Managing Assistant Director II) establishes and manages all aspects of all off-campus clinical externships for both the MA and SLPD (doctoral) programs in speech-language pathology; participates in the effectuation of program goals, policies and procedures for the SLP clinical programs which involves development of college policy; and does related work as required. The Manager may be required to teach two in-load courses each semester (spring and fall) in addition to assigned managerial duties and responsibilities. Direct supervision of clients and students in the Center for Communication Disorders or admissions management for incoming speech-language pathology students may be assigned at the discretion of the Executive Director and/or Dean. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including occasional evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; a minimum of two years of professional experience working in the field of speech-language pathology with various populations; national certification as a speech-language pathologist, i.e., CCC-SLP; and license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of NJ is required. A Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, five years of professional experience working in the field of speech-language pathology, teaching and previous experience supervising speech-language pathology graduate students in externship sites is preferred. Candidate must have experience with the organization, coordination and implementation of programming and proficiency with MS Word,


MS Excel and database management. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
