DISCIPLINE Speech-Language Pathology DISCIPLINE Audiology

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications and nominations for two full-time Open Rank, Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology. UTEP is seeking a driven, innovative, and experienced leader.  Responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching, maintaining an active research portfolio, academic advising, oversight of student research projects, professional and scholarly activities, service to the university and community, and accreditation and candidacy duties. 

There may be opportunities to be involved in the development of a new Doctor of Audiology curriculum.  The new faculty member may play a major role in the realization of the strategic plan and initiatives of the UTEP College of Health Sciences. This is a 9-month faculty appointment.   Initially the position will be in the Speech-Language Pathology program involving teaching 2 courses per year in the applicant’s area of expertise.


Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • An earned Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Speech/Hearing Science (Ph.D.) or Audiology (Ph.D., Au.D.);
  • Credentialed and licensed Audiologist/Speech-Language Pathologist with eligibility in Texas and minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology;

Applicants with teaching, clinical, and research interests in any of the Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology areas will be considered.  Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and record of research, teaching, and service.  Candidates who have ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP, CCC-A) and eligibility for Texas state licensure will be preferred.  ABD candidates will be considered.
